There are some key points to note when installing acoustic panels, as follows:
1. The wall foundation must be solid. Before installing the acoustic panels, you need to pay attention to the fact that there should be no fine cracks on the wall of the house, otherwise the sound will drill out through the gap; if there is moisture on the cement on the wall, you need to apply a layer of moisture-proof primer first, otherwise the sound-absorbing cotton behind the acoustic panels will mold after a short time.
2. Careful joint treatment. When installing the acoustic panels, the joints of the boards cannot be aligned with the seams, but must be staggered like brick walls. Leave a 2mm expansion joint between the two boards, fill it with special sound insulation glue, and use masking tape to flatten it after it dries.
3. Pre-embed the circuit before installing the acoustic panels. If the wall is to be equipped with embedded speakers or spotlights later, bury the PVC threading pipe in the opening position of the acoustic panel in advance. The experienced approach is to first apply a layer of gypsum board as a primer and run the pipeline in the interlayer, which will not affect the sound insulation and facilitate maintenance.
4. The edge closing should be done well. Because the joints between the ceiling and the floor are most susceptible to sound leakage, after installing the acoustic panel, you need to use sound insulation sealant to fill a circle along the skirting. In addition, it is recommended to install magnetic sealing strips around the door frame, which can automatically tighten the gap when the door is closed.
